We are almost halfway through the year, can you believe? And still working hard here at the Bohemiacademia office. Despite creating a whole bunch of our clients, I find it’s way too easy to put off writing these weekly round-ups, hence the frequent hiatuses. But I must begin to practise what I preach, otherwise why would anyone listen to me?
If you’re new here: Hi, I’m Scar, Founder & CEO here at Bohemiacademia. I do a whole bunch of things, including working from our Kensington office three days a week.
Here’s what the team has been up to this week.
A few weeks ago I went along to the DFRWS conference in Norway. I’m on the organising committee, so I was there in that capactity, but I was also representing Forensic Focus, one of Bohemiacademia’s clients. The whole conference was videoed and now Brad, our video editor, is making the videos look prettier and run more smoothly. Of course I also managed to fit in a bit of sightseeing while I was there.
Once Brad’s done with the editing, Garreth will transcribe the videos so that everyone can enjoy them, and they will be posted on YouTube and on our client’s site, as well as across their social media.
Speaking of which, our social media team has been super busy this week, too. We look after over four hundred Facebook presences in total, across groups and pages; Louise and Kathy are our Facebook heroines. Being a total sucker for punishment, Kathy also looks after our clients’ Pinterest accounts. Luckily we don’t manage quite so many of those yet! But if you’d like to add yourself to our portfolio of clients, drop us a line. Emma, Susannah and I have been busy across Instagram; Christa, Mattia, Emma, Yetunde, Louise and I have been tweeting the days away.
Articles-wise, our tech experts Jade and Christa have been writing on topics related to computer forensics; Yimika and Grace have been creating in-depth guides on various subjects; and our usual team of writers has been working across a huge range of topics including expat finance; education for children with special needs; and the dreaded Brexit.
And we don’t just write articles; we can create audiovisual content, too. Carlie is our regular podcast creator; listen to her latest podcast here.
We’ve had three clients join us recently: an interior design client for transcription services; a private individual for typing services (yes, we can type up your handwritten letters into neater designs – a dying industry, but one we’re happy to support!); and a food distribution company for translation. We can translate between fifty different languages, with a huge team based all around the world.
