This week’s most exciting piece of news is the addition of two new members to the Bohemiacademia team. Christa will be helping with content for one of our biggest clients, and Grace will be joining us as an intern to help with general admin and content creation.
In theory this should help my own life to get a bit less busy, but in practice I doubt it will; both new hires will be focusing on areas that need some extra attention. Hopefully over time though we’ll add even more team members and I’ll be able to palm off some of the day-to-day running of the business to somebody else, or perhaps a group of somebodies.
If you’re new here: Hi, I’m Scar, Founder & CEO here at Bohemiacademia. I do a whole bunch of things, including working from our Kensington office three days a week.
My week has mainly been taken up with what I suppose you’d call HR activities: hiring people, creating contracts, working out job descriptions, interviewing potential interns etc. I also finished sensitivity reading the novel I was working on last week and sent it back to the publisher.
The end of the month is newsletter time for most of our clients, so we put together several of those, as well as round-ups on the topics of tech, forensics, healthcare, finance, expat life, and Brexit. I had a bunch of calls on Monday to discuss content requirements for March, and soon I’ll be sending all the work for this month over to the freelancers.
We’re one person down on the social media side at the moment, since one member of our team is off sick, but the rest of us are powering on through with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram and more.
I am currently running a stand at a conference for one of our clients, so I will sign off now with a shorter round-up than usual, but don’t forget to drop us a line if you’d like to commission a project!
